Network Connection Problems (Wired)

If you receive error messages about either being unable to login, connect to domain or access files, please follow the following steps to ensure that your computer is connected to the network.

  1. Ensure the Ethernet cable is connected to the network port and that a light is lit.
  2. Login as 'administrator' with password 'bluesky@101'
  3. Navigate to 'Control Panel' > 'Network & Internet' > 'Network & Sharing Centre'  > 'Change Adapter Settings'
  4. Ensure that Local Area connection is enabled.
  5. If 'No network cable connected' is displayed try the following until the network cable is detected:
    • Switch data points
    • Replace the ethernet cable
  6. Click 'Start' and in the seach box type 'CMD' and press Enter
  7. Type 'ipconfig' and press Enter.  If an IP address of 10.X.X.X is displayed the computer is successfully connected to the network, otherwise type 'ipconfig /release' and press Enter followed by 'ipconfig /renew' and press Enter.
  8. Restart the computer and attempt to login as a network user.
