What name servers do I use?

A name server is responsible for holding the IP addresses of web hosts (eg mail servers, ftp servers etc) that are attached to a domain.  It is like a virtual street directory of your domain and its hosts.

The name servers that you will need to point your domain at are dependant on the service being provided.  Your MyNetWay hosting welcome letter will tell you which name servers to use.  If you use another hosting provider you will need to contact them to find out which name servers you need.

For hosting services provided by MyNetWay, generally they should be configured as follows.

For Standard Hosting, Email Hosting and Redirection Customers:

  • Name Server 1: ns1.mynetway.net.au
  • Name Server 2: ns2.mynetway.net.au

For DNS Hosting Customers:

  • Name Server 1: dns1.mynetway.net.au
  • Name Server 2: dns2.mynetway.net.au
  • Name Server 3: dns3.mynetway.net.au
  • Name Server 4: dns4.mynetway.net.au
  • Name Server 5: dns5.mynetway.net.au
